As section leader, I stood up on a desk and said, "We have to work on music NOW!" And all they could do was talk about the shirts, and what color they should be and what color the writting should be and what it should say. But the stupidest thing was we had people crying because nobody liked their idea.

They told me they probably wouldn't take in another saxophone, and then they let some other guy in... And all of my friends made it who tried out...
2005-08-07 [Digital Fortress]: Wow.. that sucks. I made 9th grade honors band, which is the highest band a freshman can be in. ._. If you're good enough, though, in the second semmester, you can be moved up to Wind Symphony. I want to be in wind symphony. XP I doubt I'll make it, though.

2005-08-08 [LonelyTylenol]: We have two ninth grade bands. One of them sounds better, though they don't pick and choose who is in which band. It's because of the directors. Some ninth graders, if needed, are pulled up into higher bands. Tenth graders, are shoved into Varsity band. In the last trimester of ninth grade, you can audition for a place in Wind ensemble. 11th and 12th graders are put in Symphonic band if they don't make/try out for wind ensemble.

It really sucks, because one side is far worse than the other. I'm really getting pissed at our percussion instructor. Will elaborate later, but now I'm tired.

2006-09-04 [your mom goes to college24]: i play flute......and i know about reeds because in class our old drum major played clarinet and he was using a plastic reed and he was always really sharp...then our director asked what size is your reed and he said it was a 3 then our director asked what kind it was and he said it was a plastic one...also he couldnt hit a high c above the staffthe're just not good....

2006-09-04 [LonelyTylenol]: Well, if he was pushed in all the way, that may be why he was sharp. I don't know, just considering possibilities. The first time I heard of a plastic reed, a professional was using it. He said that they were very hit-and-miss. Some work very well and other hardly at all, but the ones that do work last forever just about.

2007-02-17 [Mistress Lina]: yea soo umm idk i haven't had a band director like i'm sure i said before and we went to competiton all by our selves and we kicked butt we were one point away from a superior at FBA but i'm sure that we would have had a superior if we had a band director grrrr to the losers judges lol oh and now we have a band director lol yay
